Shivers
I'm thinking of how to expand my repertoire on advarp [I admit it, that's what it is].
I don't want to do anything illegal, so it'll have to be done by proxy.
This is how it works: if you care enough to want to know, you'll take it upon yourself to:
- buy it;
- download it.
We are taught that the human body has five senses. Let us try to include sound in advarp.
One sound that sends a shiver down my spine is the massively enormous/huge/immense [big] fuzz bass that kicks in on Neutral Milk Hotel's Ghost. [Off their concept album, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.]
- Listen to it through a proper stereo, and you didn't know how big a bass sound can get.
- It might be so big only in contrast with the presence of the acoustic guitar strum.
- It swells! You sense its approach, and when it comes, it crashes all over you.
- God bless all who believe in fuzz on bass. All you need is fuzz.
- A bass that big resonates. The bass is the rhythm in the song. You feel the beat in the single bass note.
- It's also a pretty good song apart from the bass.
If you decide to branch out and buy/download [borrow from me] the whole album, you'll hear bagpipes!
